Guilty as charged yer 'onour. I thought he needed cheering up, even though I'd only met him once.

I've had a couple of catheters whilst I spent a while in hospital last year, spent 10 days in ICU and had a central line just below my clavicle when I was in there. Also had a jugular line for a couple of weeks as all my veins collapsed and they had no access to get a canular in as I was on IV antibiotics for over 3 months. Still have a little scar on my neck from the central line, nothing compared to my others though. I can image it being quite scary if you had it whilst awake, I was under anaesthetic when they put mine in. It's nice you can share your story and it will help others. A lot of people slate the NHS but when you really need them they really are life savers. Enjoy your zed therapy

They stuck one up may old chap back in 2014, can't remember it going in, can't remember it coming out.
I was stoned out of my tiny little mind on morphine.

I actually meant the central line in the neck, not the catheter. I had both them whilst being awake and it's not a pleasant experience!
