Get well soon Bill, we all seem to think we're bullet proof until something like this hits us. I'm the eldest of three brothers and both my brothers and parents were type 2 diabetics but through some stroke of fate it looks like the gene has passed me by, and I will be eternally grateful for this, but I suffer from blood pressure problems which I've been having medication for since the mid 1990's.
I have a medical every 6 months at my GP to make sure, as best I can to stay reasonably healthy.

Blimey mate, I hope that things will start to get better for you from now on. It would be good to see you behind the wheel of the zed before too long. Best wishes,
Ken.

Get well soon and good on you for sharing. If more men (and women sometimes) were prepared to talk openly about their health problems it might encourage others to go to their doctor if something doesn't seem quite right.

Get well soon Bill, I didn't realise that your traumatic time was still ongoing. It does seem to me that catheters have a tendency to cause infections. I had one for one week and when it was removed within hours I suffered rigor and can sympathise with you, it's a horrible experience. Anyway, hope things are on the up for you now. All the best mate.

Sorry to hear you've had such a rough time mate, I feel for you as I've spent last 5 years stubbornly fighting for my health. The "Rigors" can be a scary thing as it comes on so quick.. one of the only times I've seen seasoned nurses look quite panicked.

All the best with your recovery, one thing I've learnt is we can all get over some major stuff with the right mindset and the support from our wonderful NHS (we will fight for it! ) but sometimes we are left with a trade off with more minor niggles but grateful that we are still here.

Best wishes to you Bill and hope you make a good recovery, a good reminder to all us gents that we need to look after ourselves as much as we do our Zs. Gail you are so right .

Had my fair share of bad health the last 3 years but apart from being left with a "few niggles" all is well. Can't agree with you more @Uncle_Clanger. The NHS is an amazing institute and they served me proud.

At least with the time off i can get a few things on the Z sorted. Just ordered new 3rd brake light and a 3.0si wing badge so have a couple of things to keep me occupied without having to strain too much

And he did right to prompt you Bill. Knowing what Hugh has been through and now yourself although different to Hugh it's best to speak up. I too had Sepsis which made me extremely Ill to the point of being given 24 hours to live.
I was happy to talk on here when I was in hospital. As BT once said........its good to talk and to share these experiences, hopefully to help others in the future.

He did not prompt me directly it was when he posted up his issue on a post that prompted me and i am glad he did that
