That was fortunate that no terminal engine damage was caused. I’ll bet you’ll be up early doors for a long cruise to work.
How much was the labour cost, @Shelly ?New update from Allan
The chain guides had snapped which put slack in the chain, which made the chain jumped 3-4 teeth , which put the timing out , which led to it not starting….
parts were
Full chain kit and cam sprokets
4 new coil packs
4 new spark plugs
oil change
oil filter
also It had a full mot
new coil spring on the rear
including labour and mot cost £1,658.68
The labour cost was £675 , and yes it did include vat , and yes I got a break down of the costsHow much was the labour cost, @Shelly ?
Did you receive a breakdown of the total cost? Does this sum include VAT?
I’m not at work tomorrow , so I’ll clean the interior and give the seats a good clean , and then go for a long drive, that’s sounds like a great day off workThat was fortunate that no terminal engine damage was caused. I’ll bet you’ll be up early doors for a long cruise to work.
I think he said that the coil packs snapped or something, I’ll ask AllanSorry Shelly but why has he charged you for new spark plugs and coil packs when it already has them replaced by Allan zero miles ago?
FFS. I detect yet more in the way ofI think he said that the coil packs snapped
Very very lucky for the engine to survive that intact...How much was the labour cost, @Shelly ?

Yes I’ve been very very luckyVery very lucky for the engine to survive that intact...
I’m very lucky I’ve still got my beautiful ZYoure lucky it did not have any issues with the flux capacitor. These things are expensive.
I was told the engine might not be any good, we were looking around for a replacement engine, which would of been really expensiveVery very lucky for the engine to survive that intact...
Not yet @ShellyHave you heard anything about your Z @ktnez99
Hope you get it back really soon
I feel like I’ve got a new Z , I'm so happy![]()
Really hope you get your car up and running before the person goes on holidayNot yet @Shelly
As the radiator blew on Monday, a new one is on order and awaiting the delivery plus new hoses and a new thermostat. Once these arrive and are fit plus anti-freeze and ionised (or is it deionised?) water, it’s then got to have its MOT and this is all subject to whether everything arrives in time ahead of the workshop owner going on holiday after Monday. It’s nerve-racking because a hose and the radiator have yet to arrive and the man whose business is doing the work shuts up his workshop after Monday and is away for this month and next.
Thank you. So do I. If not, it’ll be September before I have my Z and it’ll spend the Summer locked up. SendingReally hope you get your car up and running before the person goes on holiday![]()

Nipping here and there with the roof down ,it’s been a brilliant day
I’m so tired tonight as I didn’t sleep much last night thinking about my Z ( silly I know)
I wanted to get up very early and clean my Z out , but I don’t think the neighbours would like a hoover going at 6am , I was outside by 9, and now Snow White looks perfect![]()
