Write Up West Coast wilds, N.Z.

Time for the last road trip before Winter starts. Shirley and I are taking Siena for a trip into the West Coast Wilds for a few days.

Today it was over Arthurs Pass and into the West Coast, a couple of photo stops, hike up to a water fall in the bush and now settling into Greymouth accomodation. Heading to the pub for dinner later.

Short trip from Greymouth to Franz Josef by road today but we got off the beaten track and did lots on the way.

Laughed at the road sign warning cyclist not to ride over the train/road bridge south of Greymouth

Visited Lake Mahinapua and did a couple of short walks

Walked the 3 hr Harihari coastal walk.

Spent the day exploring short walks around Franz Josef and Fox Glacier.

Turned out to be a day of reflections. Sorry no car pictures today.

My share of today's drive was from Franz Joseph, over Haast Pass to Blue pond would rank as one of the top 3 that I've done. Fantastic scenery, great Z car roads and the car just purred effortlessly.

For the trout fisher persons, how big is that Brown Trout?
