Write Up Welsh Cruise 10th July

Looks like a day well spent ! Pleased the car was no more serious @Mint and hopefully a full recovery after the pumps changed,as you say looks like a possibly impeller fail rather than the bearing but either way pleased you caught it without any further damage...
It was the bearing Ant. The fan was resting on the shroud when I first checked, as soon as I moved it water and steam came flooding out:(

Could of been a lot worse. I am surprised you have not changed it already tho Dave
It was on the list Bill. In fact I was only talking with @Grumpy on the Euro trip about getting it done.

This was the first time ive tested some new bits on my z4m. Last year had Toyo r888s on and the weather was similar. This year i took no chamces with a new set of Dunlop sports Maxx. I honestly can say they are superb for grip, amd road noise, well recommended. The remap, gruppe m intake, and supersprint exhaust has transformed the car from quick to dangerously quick. The only issue I had was with rear coilovers, which was set too low. Im sure ibe left a lot of stainless steel on the tarmac of those hills above Bala.

Great video... I was waiting for the rally commentary ... Right over brow .. 40 left into 60 right into straight to 100 etc etc.. Hahaha

Thanks @TaffZee I only have 20mins before that video. I left the camera off for the evo because it went up a notch :)

How do i post video on here
You really need to post them on YouTube Gwyndaf, then post the link on here. If I'm correct, the forum cannot cope with video's as easily as YouTube. Sorry if I'm not precisely correct on this point mod's

Tony.

Only just got chance to have a catch up on here after Sundays steady pootle ,as me and Sara headed back to the valleys Monday morning for a mid week break at Hugh's place.
Thanks @TaffZee for organising the day, much appreciated .
I surprised myself by getting up early enough on a Sunday morning to be able to get to Mint towers for a mini cruise to the meeting point at Chirk.
As we set off from the Mints place the heavens opened :( and my zed decided it liked drifting around islands, even when I wasn't on the gas and we even had a slide on a left hander on a country lane :nailbiting:.
Seemed strange as I haven't had this happen unless really pushing my luck and Dave's zed seemed fine but his does have sports suspenders.
From then on it felt twitchy all day and not the usual confident feeling handling, although tbh I don't usually drive as fast as Sunday's pace .
Think it may be time to have a closer look at the shocks and springs, all the rubber bushes look fine.
On the way home following the Mints again,a little problem occurred. All the dash lights were flashing, the needles were flicking up and down and the car was juddering and no power. Thinking this was looking terminal I flashed Dave in front and we pulled into a petrol station.
Left the engine running while I has a look under the bonnet, nothing amiss so I turned the car off, turned the ignition back on.......nothing,no lights what so ever so before throwing a tantrum I thought hmmm just check the battery.......the negative lead had come off the battery and was barely touching the terminal,so reconnected it and all good again......phew !! :).
Half an hour after that Dave's zed threw a wobbly with the water pump letting go .
I felt so guilty leaving Dave and Pauline waiting for the recovery truck :shy:.
Sorry @Mint and @Mrs Mint :sorry:......but pleased you got it sorted quickly .

Nice right up @Bozzy. Nice to meet you too. I was also wearing my sports suspenders that day so had no problems. I think Dave was wearing his too!
