Saw that there was a BMW Club Sussex breakfast meet at the Toat Cafe on the A29, so decided to brave the cold and take a trip down. Travelled down the A3 to Petersfield then back along the A272, watching the sun rise just outside Petworth. Then put the roof down, even though it was still -4 degrees for the last leg on to Billingshurst and down the A29. Mediocre, but much needed breakfast at the Toat Cafe and a few nice cars, then back on the A29, B2126 and a quick stop and Newlands Corner to see the fog on the valley below. The rust on my sills will be worth it.

I know the Toat Cafe well , drive past it 2 or 3 times a month if going up to Crawley from Bognor

Might stop sometime and try the food !!!!!!!

Think along the lines of construction site canteen rather than Sussex gastro pub to avoid disappointment. Their standard breakfast with coffee or tea was £9. The bubble and squeak was particularly nice, the sausage not so much.

I’ve been spoilt by the breakfast baguettes at Basingstoke B&Q, on my way to Zedshed HQ, so would be very disappointed if not up to that standard =))
