Write Up The Lakes Tour 2019

I smell a R A T .... that’s a little off your route home old boy...

This was definitely one of the great cruises and many thanks to @autoglym and Yvonne for all their hard work in organising. The hotel was perfect for the event. I can't add any pictures to improve on those from Dave @Mint and Pauline but here is a bit of video of Hardknot and some history of the Hotel.

We diverted across the Peaks rather than sticking on the M6, bit further but definitely better:thumbsup:

Dave @Mint as always some fantastic pictures mate, you always get a nice angle to make your pictures that bit different. Also I have to say your assistant really needs to give my assistant a few tips (but please don't tell her I said so;))
Thank you for sharing, take care and see you soon.

Tony.

Does that include Mikes comment .. well we know where we are but we are going the wrong way ... epic

There was an unintentional deviation from the planned route and we came at it from the other side to the usual one. :)

Pleasure mate, glad you both enjoyed it.

Niall, the route may not have been exactly what Andy planned but there were some epic roads;). And who can complain about doing Hardknott in both directions:thumbsup:. Even Linda enjoyed it eh @PHILIP BAXTER =))

Agree mate, that run through to the bottom of Hardknott was excellent.

AND not everyone went up the down side, then down the up side, and then turned around and went up the up side and down the down side! Confused? o_O =))=))=))

Did you meet up with any cyclists on their way down the pass as you were going up it? I did the Lakes meet a couple of years back and couldn't believe those mad b***ers actually cycled up the steep side and raced down the other side.
Going up the pass, my zed was facing skywards and all I could see was my car bonnet and blue sky and a gang of guys dressed like spiderman quickly heading towards me

A few proper hard corps cyclists. Fit as a butcher's dog mate.

It was surprisingly quiet this year on the passes Gary, still a few mad sods that had come out on their bikes without their engines though

Just got back home after having an extra day in the Lake District (over 1000 miles in all). Had an amazing time seeing places and roads we never knew existed all thanks to Andy 's planning and organisation, and not forgetting Steve (our leader) and Mint. Photos are incredible, scenery breathtaking, lovely hotel and such a friendly group of enthusiasts. What a brilliant experience all round especially with the roof down and the sun shining on us! Thanks to everyone. Bob & Sue
