Write Up Surrey Rolling Road Dyno Runs 26 Aug 2017

Had an interesting hour or so at Surrey Rolling Day today, we had 5 Zeds up for the power runs. I won't go in to specific results unless @pgunter @Oldguysrule @5harp3y @flimper or @Rha want to post them up.

Suffice it to say they all did well against BMW stated figures, particularly the 2.8 6 pot engines. The lowest recorded was a literal whisker under 200bhp, not bad as BMW quote 192/193 depending where you read it.

@Lee has organised the next run for the end of September, so will sort another event thread out for that.

@Oldguysrule did very well for a totally standard engine with 145,000 miles on the clock.

In the coming weeks we are fitting the manifold with TB along with ECU.

Got a K&N 57i Induction kit fitted and a Supersprint Stainless Steel Cat Back exhaust system so it would be interesting to see how she does on the rollers.

Sorry left mine in my lockup but it's no differant to the last one after the generic remap. Here's the one I've got here with me.

It now needs to have a proper performance map which I'll endeavour to get done asap. The operator today said it's loosing power at the top end owing to misfueling along the way but hay it's going real well.
Great day out with the southern mad lads, did 170mls most of them chasing these boys about. What a great way to spend Saturdays, beats going to Oxford for a shopping treat, did I say treat.?????

That's impressive the 2.8's still kicking out more than quoted after so long and so many miles, I might just keep my old nail then...
So now the questions begs how much we're they actually making when new!

I believe some Bmw Cars like e46 M3 don't quite make quoted power but seems the 2.8 are ok, wonder why the were conservative with figure when new.

What BMW does Charlie drive these days? He always had some interesting old metal knocking about.
