Morning all! Just gone out to Reggie to do something and the passenger seat looks like a swimming pool. It may have been leaking a long time but as I don't usually run him in wet weather I wouldn't know. It looks to be coming in from across the top of the window.
Is there any adjustments that can be made or any quick fix or am I doomed to the leaky roof from the pits of hell!
Thanks
Grumps.

Not the best news but you need to see if you can trace the source.
Towel the seat up and hit it will a hose pipe.
The rubbers can be adjusted and a rubber treatment to make them swell and become supple again will help.
I yhink the hooks that hold the roof down are adjustable too so you can fit it tighter it mag help:thumbsup:

Hello mate, as Ant says but if you can get hold of a cosmetic smoke machine you can put it in the cab and set it off, that should show you where any leaks are. It's only vegatable oil so won't harm your interior, just needs a wipe down after.

Leading on from this idea of a smoke machine,I use smoke pellets for testing chimneys /flues. They're cheap but effective, maybe cut one in half, place it inside a metal container like an old paint tin with the lid off inside the car, light it with a match, watch for any escaping smoke from outside obviously. Just an idea.

@Grumpy temporary fix is to get a plastic sheet over the roof and windscreen and trap it between windows and roof.
The hooks can be adjusted, there is a small allen grub screw locking the hook so loosen it off and the hook can be turned 1 turn and then lock the grub screw. Lock the roof and will be a lot harder to close the handles but will pull the roof tighter to the rubber seal.

@BMBabe done a separated post on leaking base of door.

Thanks Brian. I'll do that when it stops, if it stops! I've just had a look and found the grub screws.

Thanks Steve good idea. OK plan A when it stops bloody raining . Tighten down the roof handles by one turn if there's enough slack to allow it and chuck a smoke pellet in it and see what happens. Will B and Q sell them @Bozzy?

I doubt it mate,if you were over this way you can have one of mine I buy them in boxes of ten from the plumbers merchants. You can't buy them separately so you'd end up with a load of them that you'll probably not use.
Could meet you at j28 later if you want a few foc ?

Although the leak is Athe Anpillar it runs along the seal and drips into the seat and makes quite a splash so it seems likes it coming from the deal between the window when often it's not.
