If I'd have been a bit more active this year and known you were thinking of a change, I might have had a buyer for yours. My mate has recently bought an older Z4, and you already know him! Plain burger man?

Shelly - you will be amazed at the difference between your old and new car. I’ve already mentioned the technology but to drive it is night and day by comparison. Here’s a few thoughts that immediately spring to mind.

The 20i isn’t massively powerful but it’s a nice size engine nonetheless. It’s a great long distance cruiser.
The roof isn’t fast at opening and closing. You’ll quickly learn not to wait to close it when rain threatens.
Boot space is limited and difficult to access with the roof down. Soft squishy bags are the order of the day if you’re away for a few days. We’ve done a week in France no problem with roof down while traveling. Just takes a little thought loading up and using all the limited space in the cabin. The fact you can open but not close the roof from the key is frustrating. Can lengthen the process of getting out the car.
Watch the wheels. Dead easy to kerb them.
Ride is firm, even crashy on the 19” run-flats. I suspect you’ll want to keep RFTs because they’re a get you home insurance policy (at the cost of writing off the tyre if you need to drive it deflated). I prefer using the Sport mode as I find the suspension perversely more compliant - probably due to active damping. Keep away from potholes. They can be wheel wreckers
