Have just arrived home (got back 1am last night) from a almost perfect trip away.
Every year I meet up with a mate from my offshore days. Previously we've been abroad but this year we thought we'd have it near where he lives and not far from my parents. This year was Aviemore.
This gave me the excuse to revisit some roads I've grown quite fond of. And found myself staying at Dalmally so I could wind up to Connel Bridge and up through Fort William, stopping at Spean Bridge for some food and to admire the beautiful Commando memorial which seems to be turning into a little tradition of mine having done it several times. But the views never get old and neither do the roads, especially heading to Beauly from Drumnadrochit. The first few miles out of there and up over the hills are an absolute riot.
Unfortunately an old fault has reeled it's ugly head. Leaving Aviemore last night, it quickly became apparent that the Zed lacked power. And reluctant to start. I've checked this morning and I have another cam sensor fault. Looks like GSF parts aren't up to the job.....
Oh and driving down through what felt like a hurricane was not ideal. Still I'm home and the Zed almost ran faultlessly.
