Interesting and enjoyable day to day, expertly guided by Andy with information and stories abound. What a national disgrace if no way can be found to keep this collection available for public viewing!

Modern day fire tender with a strong message, courtesy of N.Lincolnshire fire service

Outside demonstrations throughout the day including search dogs and tender demo's

Team Photo, Tender a Alvis Mk6 much banter during the day which was the best engine with the older generation showing much affection for the Mk6 from the early sixties.

Not so rapid response, later replaced with the much more rapid Range Rover V8

A very pleasant way to spend a Sunday finished off with our own Autumn cruise to the coast for a very enjoyable lunch. Thanks again Andy.

Thanks to our small but perfectly formed group, a very nice day out indeed. Roof down all the way home, mostly in the dark.

The Mighty MK9 from the 70's. A beast then and now. No ECU's or any such nonsense, it just worked. Cummings VT903 V8 Diesel, 22 ton and 22000 litres of finished foam per minute. A beast on the rough stuff

Range Rover 6x4 Rescue Vehicle. 909 litres of AFFF Foam and some rescue gear. Purpose in life was to get to the scene pronto, it did and cut a path to the cockpit to rescue the aircrew pending the big boys rocking up.

Predecessor to the above, slower than an asthmatic 3 legged hamster did the job though. 450 litres of AFFF Foam.

An old The Queen's Flight appliance. Job was to get to the VVIP landing area, set up the 'H' and talk the Helo in and provide fire cover for the Royals. A great job that you were invited to join, I wasn't

The MK10 Primary 2 appliance, first of the pneumatic eara, a good and FAST bit of kit, when the pneumatics worked

The 'Green Goddess' as slow as a wet weekend but what a pump!

That's the very one complete with full asbestos fire kit

Hope so mate. Steve Shirley goes back into battle with the Council again tomorrow. A few hundred visited today and at previous open days which will hopefully provide the stats they need to press the green light. More would come if they had their own place and fully set up.

Nice collection and I hope they find a new home. One of my first patients I encountered through A&E was a firman with smoke inhalation, absolutely toasting hot his kit was stripping him off so goodness knows what temps he had been exposed to but at least he was cleared ok after a bit of O2 therapy.
