Looks like you had a great day Pete, thanks for sharing :-bd

Shame you couldn't make it Jim, damn those pesky sick notes. By the way mate, I have used green stuff pads before and found they were no better than normal road pads. Reds are much better.

There have been a few people asking about the next track day, they are organised by the BMWCCGB and cost between 100-300 quid. The dearest is the full F1 cicuit at Silverstone later this year. All you need is a helmet (£35 amazon), a fully functional car and plenty of bottle. I would recommend you check the condition of your engine oil and spend a bit of money uprating your brakes (ark at me, one track day and suddenly I'm an expert!).

The next event is at Cadwell Park, mid May time. Once I have more details I'll start a new thread. One word of warning, I have done one track day and now I can't wait for the next. It is highly addictive :ymdevil: :steer1) :nearmiss) :coolsteer)

Went just to observe, but would have had a go , as cheap spare tickets were available.
But to be honest my standard pads wouldnt have lasted two minutes,so it would have been a waste of money.
Also we had to babysit young Swamps while daddy had his playtime with Pete :nearmiss) :D

Yep Reds are better when they are up to Temperature, but blooming downright dangerous when they are not..Tried them before and virtually no brakes until they get hot.. So a compromise is the green pads, not a lot of difference in the braking Efficiency, but still stop you when your brakes are hot....

I would pay a bit extra and go for a BMW track day. There are fewer cars and there are no chavs in their blinged up Vauxhall Corsa's using the track like a bumper car circuit!

If you are getting into track days I would seriously look at upgrading discs and pads. Just from experience on cadwell park the stock items lasted about 3 laps at the most before over heating causing lots of wobble and fading. There are a couple of heavy braking points, one being down hill so it gives them a good work out.

I would be very interested in doing a track day at cadwell park... £99 for full day sounds great!

Maybe a zorg track day should be arranged?

Are you volunteering to organise it then Liam?

Sounds a good idea to me, although would need to be a fairly central/accessible circuit to get the most people interested.

Donningtan is nice :D :-bd

I've just got out the shower and noticed an enormous bruise on my left knee. This is from having to wedge myself into my rubbish standard seats when going around tight right hand bends.

After being sat in Swampers M I realise I must get some more supportive seats. Cracking car by the way mate :-bd

As for a Zorg trackday, don't forget there is a BMW track day at Cadwell on the 14th May, we could hijack that. I don't think it will cost much more than £99 and you get a free lesson (very handy). It is capped at 60 cars which also makes for good times ;)

If no one fancied that I'd be up for a Zorg track day any time, any place. I have well and truely caught the bug :steer1)

Let me rephrase.

I wasn't reminded.

I'll be doing plenty more track days, I'll be sure to keep you in the loop in future. Not all the cars were BMW's so you will have no bother getting your porker in if it is a BMWCC event.
