We are taking a break from house renovation (daughter's house). It was our idea to go somewhere really peaceful with quiet roads where we could take and enjoy driving the zed. So Maxine booked the ferry and we are here. Just on 100 miles driven today, unfortunately, all with the hood up, due to the intermittent showers of sleety rain and it's cold. We are booked into a very nice place with I'm told a lovely view, but at present it is shrouded in sea mist. The zed is performing very well and I am looking forward to the next 2 days of driving about.

Hope you and Maxine have a nice break Alan, and maybe you might get that roof down. Here's hoping.

Tony.

Go far enough South and you might eventually find some sun, have a great time

Enjoy your break you two, hope the weather is kind to you.
Only driven our zed in France once and it was great fun, lovely smooth tarmac and no sunken manhole covers ;).

Steve

Let's hope the weather plays ball so you can enjoy your time together

Not that great at the other side of the big pond just now Bazza, so Shirl tells me.

Sure it will by then mate. They were going to see the local Rodeo last night but were going better prepared than they were last year. Taking a blanket each and a cushion to sit on as those metal terraced seating (bleachers?) froze them to the core and they only stayed about an hour last time.

Tony.

I believe I may have misled you. The ferry we were on only went to the Isle of Wight. Still we are having a great time. The roads are quite rough in places. We went along Military Road to Freshwater Bay. It used to be a pink concrete road built after ww2 using the brick rubble from bombed houses in Portsmouth, so I'm told. It is tarmac now but still rough. I remember it being pink in the 60s when I rode the round the island cycle race, came last and won a red tail light (lantern rouge) you can't drop out when it is only one lap but 50 odd miles

Love it=))=))=))=))=))=))

Did you get your steering wheel done Barry?
Yes really pleased did post it on the thread, that Jack top guy workmanship fantastic:whistle:

Had two days without wifi so couldn't post anything. We are staying at a very nice place called The Wight Mouse Inn The only problem is with the hot water supply to our washbasin (intermittent) needs a plumber @Bossy. The zed is now quite dirty as the roads are filthy in places. Will take a while to clean up again when we get home. This is the view from our bedroom, there was even a football match yesterday, if we had wanted to watch it. We had better things to do. Did the touristy bit around the island. Going to Carisbrook Castle today and maybe Osbourne House

We've stayed there, looks like in the same room=))

We have been out and about today, it's a lot warmer but the wind is quite strong. Went to Carisbrook Castle but it was closed, they only open at the weekends in the off season, same with Osbourne House so that just meant more time for driving. I must be slowing down in my old age, I seem to be being pushed around this island by the locals, they drive faster than I want to on these roads. The sun has been really bright this afternoon, nice to see, makes a change. Took some pics of the sea at Sandown, not quite up to swimming in that. Also one of the car to show we had the top down, at least part of the time.

Your away for a while mate and that's what counts. It has certainly been a much nicer day here near Lincoln too.

Tony.

Nice to get some topless motoring in adds to the driving experience on those roads
