Just back from a (very) long weekend in Scotland having been joined by @andyglym, @Bozzy & Sara, @Jjim & Alicia and @Sean d & Carrie. We all met up at the Premier Inn, Dumbarton on Thursday evening ready for the drive up to our hotel on Friday. A lovely drive up through the Trossachs taking in Dukes Pass, then across to Glencoe then up to Invergarry and finally West towards the Kyle of Lochalsh. Saturday we had a drive around the Isle of Skye and on Sunday a trip up to Applecross. Out of three times over Applecross two have been misty and one sunny. Misty this time. The group went our separate ways on Monday but we had a scenic drive back down to the Premier Inn. Home on Tuesday after just over 1275 (trouble free) miles. Unlike James who broke a rear spring and Andy breaking a rim on the way home. The weather was pretty kind to us, the roads were great, the company was great , what's not to like.
A few pics...

Love all of those roads, can tell the route you guys did from the photos. :D

Great pictures Dave, and Andy, but the sunshine really lights them up. As in the one before the Rainbow, it transforms the view.

Tony.

Looks like you had a smashing trip, great photos. Pity it wasn't better weather, but that's the UK.
Roof down all of day 2 and about 40% of day 1 so not to bad for October

The menacing weather gives the scenery a different perspective than summer.

What a top drawer weekend it was, big thanks to @Mint and @Mrs Mint for all the hard work and time it must taken to set out this trip, which ran like a swiss watch :scorecard: .
Some fantastic driving roads and scenery to match. Never seen so many lochs in such a short time, just brilliant.

The pic just above is from Monday after we all parted company and was taken near Lossiemouth.

Unfortunate happenings for @Jjim and @andyglym but at least you both made it home.

Thanks again.
Steve + Sara.

Didn't realise how big them old planes are until I got closer, they look so small on the telly. How many of those did you have to hose down back in the day ?.
