Model of Z
3 litre Z3 pretending to be Italian exotica. Two previous E89 Z4s.
I attended my first ever car meet this morning in my Z3.
It was held at a local garden centre just five minutes from my house. Last one of the year, held every third Sunday from March to September.
I wasn't expecting much but was amazed how many vehicles and people turned up. There must have been a hundred cars and bikes. Free entry aswell!
To say there was an eclectic mix is an understatement, especially as it is supposed to be a 'classic' event.
You can just see my P&J sandwiched between a Ford pop hotrod and a Skoda Felicia pick-up! I said it was eclectic.
My favourites were the blue TR6 (it was absolutely immaculate), the M5 and the Kwaka KH400.

There is always a brown Austin All-agro at these things …pure class!
Yep, even though that one was a VP so much posher, and an obligatory E-type.

There was a nearly new Morgan plus four which was very nice. It was an auto and had a BMW B48 engine, apparently.

I do really fancy an Emira, though. My head (and wife) says no but my heart says oh yeah.

Local car meet today was a great chance to see some unique builds and talk with fellow enthusiasts. I always enjoy checking out different styles, from classics to modified imports, and getting inspiration for future projects. If anyone is looking for affordable project cars or salvage deals, I recently found buy donated cars in illinois AutobidMaster helpful for browsing options online. It’s worth a look before your next build idea. Looking forward to the next meet already and more conversations about cars and upgrades there.

My Dad bought a 1500 VDP auto new in 1975 ( Also in brown), he swapped a Rover 3500s for it. The salesman asked him if he realised it would be a lot slower that the Rover and Dad said that was fine he wanted a sensible economical car. He nearly killed himself at the first roundabout pulling out and expecting it to go. It was very quickly swapped for a XJ6L.
