Well, as the weather was so good this morning we (@Mrs Mint & I) decided to have a little trip out. After all, the Zed is not SORNed this year so it would be rude not to. Picked up some fuel first, 99.9p/litre, then on up the Peaks to our first tea stop in Longnor. After a welcome cuppa, we carried on to the Hope Valley and did the usual ring via Edale and on the way back to Hope we spotted an Atlanta Blue Z3 going in the opposite direction. Massive waves both ways as it was @Bozzy, also out for a run. We pulled up and had an impromptu meet, good to see you and Sara Steve. Tea stop at the Old Hall Hotel in Hope then back home. 120 miles of (mostly) top down motoring - in January, not bad. Here's the pictures to prove it:

However, the Zed does need a wash again:banghead:

Love it.. Great photos and always good to meet another zed out on the roads.

Great to get out i just wish we had the time. Surprised you did not see mozza as he was out and about

So tonic to see you , roof down , in the beginning of the year!
Good start!
Dan

Great pics Dave
What a lovely surprise"bumping" into the Mint's and the only Z3 we saw today (apart from ours).
Your new paint job is top draw as are the Wheels,a real shame to get it dirty but as you said on such a lovely crisp sunny day it's rude not to.
The route we took today was a real gem, thanks to it being posted on here, most of which I had not driven on before, can't remember place name's etc but went through Ashbourne A515,turned towards Lognoor, across the 515 towards Chesterfield and on to Hope,Castleton.
an excellent afternoon's entertainment :rally:...mainly thanks to Sara's map reading\directing :D.
I want to go out and do it all again :):)

Steve

I managed to get out for a hour or so this afternoon in the sunshine. A slight alteration of my planned route for the September pre lunch run.
It was bloody cold up on Ingham top too. Thought I'd check out one of the photo stops !

Sure is Paul but to be honest after the first stop out of the car I was frozen so the roof had to go up!:)

Cheers Dan, it's not quite as cold here as where you are but it is threatening to cool down a lot in the UK this week.

Good to see you got out with the top down Tony ....and that you are refining the route to avoid the dreaded cow poop covered roads =)).
The 4 is looking mighty fine in the sunshine

Steve

And you call us southerners 'softies' lol... Mine was up after I got to the meet as it started to rain.. On the way back.. I would say Mother Nature got her revenge.. One car sideways into a ditch and a car who spun in front of me and I was thinking ebbee was going the way of the previous zed. Lucky for me, it kept going onto the verge.. The rain and hail was so heavy, it was a couple on inches of hail .. Looked like snow.

Glad to get home too.

Pictures taken in full sun to blind you to the fact that it's filthy really Steve. Much more fun to drive it than wash it ! Sun will still be higher in the sky in 8 months so I will try to find another photo spot or two if I can. Also by then cattle will still be out in the fields and there are no dairy farms on the route so you should be safe from cow poo.:)

Tony.

ps. I bought one of the toys for the car tonight.................................................;)

Good to hear you got home in one piece Paul. Hail is worse than snow, like driving on ball bearings, nasty stuff.

Tony.
