Over the last couple of years, "Drive It Day" has provided an opportunity for many member clubs to hold events in support of FBHVC's work.

The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Club is most grateful for this support and urges organisers to remember that the purpose of 'Drive It Day' is for us to be seen and appreciated by the public. This years 'Drive It Day' took place on Sunday, 21st April.

To show support for this event in the North of Scotland, the Highland Classic Motor Club organised a run for all classic car owners in the Highlands.

This year we collected donations for a local charity - L'arche Highland

Having started off wet in the morning, it ended up a lovely day for all the convertibles. We set off after lunch in Beauly with forty cars and headed towards Ben Wyvis.

Then along Strathconon to the Meig dam.

With thanks to our organisers in the HCMC.

Despite hailstones falling earlier in the day, the club run took place yesterday evening as planned.

Again, there were some interesting cars, mostly pre-2000, some pretending to be hybrids!

Starting at Evanton, the route took us up to Easter Ardross then along Strath Rorie to Scotsburn, then along the A9 for a bit to stretch our legs, down to Arabella, Barbaraville on the coast then through Saltburn and to the Tuckers Inn on the edge of Invergordon. Sales of Peroni Zero refreshed us.

So next up, the July run: Thu 4th Jul - HCMC “Bring Your Own Pudding” Run to Nairn Links by the beach there. The HCMC July Meeting is a 7.30pm scenic drive from Tesco Inshes car park, Inverness through to Nairn. You’ll have had your Dinner! So bring your own Pudding (and maybe a Flask!)

Cheers
