Only became aware of this late last week and as we went to scope out a venue for a wedding we're invited to we called in on the way back from Bawtry. Cost us £5 each entry on foot. I parked down the village as my car wasn't fit to show.
Lots of nice cars there and a good mixture of brands too.

I had a Manta of this style around 1981.

I used to look after a 120Y, same colour as this one years ago, brought back some memories.

I like this little Fiat made on the new MX5 platform.

A selection of more cars.

I've seen this at Thoresby before.

And there's always a Mk.1 Lotus Gorgina. Love these and almost bought one many years ago.

Then we ran into my mate Steve who owns this beauty. I asked how much it cost to display and he said he pulled up (a bit late tbf) and they opened the gate and waved him in. Gratis!!
Anyway, back to the cars, and stuff.

To the best of my recollection, this last one is a Bond Equipe. A fibre glass bodied car built on a Triumph Herald chassis and running gear.

We chatted to a couple of owners about Shirl's late Uncle Harry's 100 year old Quadrant bike the family needs to sell.
Oh, and they're was a rather nice Bread Van too.

For some of this,

I spotted a silver Z3 on the roundabout at the bottom of Thorndyke way.

Too late putting my fork down to get a picture though. As close as you will get to seaside fish and chips, big portions too.

Fantastic, looks a great show. ❤

I really enjoy your writeups t-tony. I don't know how you manage it but there's usually something from my past. This time it's the Manta. I had a 1900 around 1978.

Sadly mine was a only a 1600, and an Auto at that. Wouldn't pull an old hen off it's nest but it looked the part. Was always fun adjusting the tappets with the engine running. Till I thought to buy a second hand rocker cover and cut the front piece off which covered the timing chain and kept the majority of the engine oil in the engine.

It's a long time ago so i might be mixin up me cars but i seem to remember bending a strip of flexi plastic over the top of the chain. Your way sounds proper.

Love the Datsun 120Y. Bet it starts every time on a winter morning. Was that a real 6R4 or a replica ?

I'm fairly sure it was the real deal Ant. It came in a nice covered trailer too.

Yeah, I used to do that, even made one out of metal but the cut off rocker cover was by far the better way.

Looks like you had a great day out and about Tony and by the way, this one looks interesting :-

It's a Japanese car mate, we saw it at the Clipstone meet a few weeks ago..

Tony.

ps. It's like a cross between a Mk.2 Jag and a Mk. 1 Mondeo Estate.

Great photos Tony:thumbsup:
