How To Guide European Road Trip Preparation Guide

I have just ordered Air Crit certificate and it says one week plus postage time...

Further research reveals V16 lamp is not compulsory for foreign cars in Spain but is advised.

Don't lose the paperwork, as the disc fades in the sun. The number plate and QR code are legible, but the Crit Number isn't. I leave a copy of the paperwork on the dashboard next to the sticker.

The V16 beacon is a darn good idea for any county including the UK, I may well get one for the trip this year, still need the triangle for France but its a good add on measure. 🤔 Not sure how you non e89 boys will manage with a felt roof though.=))

I am off to Tuscany in September in the G29 and got a V16 beacon with GPS for coming back up via Santander. We will be back in Spain in October with our motorhome so we will use it for that as well. We got a crit air certificate for all 3 vehicles in a couple of weeks simple process from the French.

Apparently they have a manual activation button on them. Great for location but visibility wise I'd guess youd be sticking it to the boot lid
Tinterweb says as a non Spanish regd car you've no need to have a sim card in it so..it's just a visibility tool rather than location device.
