On Thursday Brian phoned to check the Car Clubs Silverstone rescheduled track day was still on with all that rain. As it was he set off from Scotland to try and be there with his Yellow Z3.

It was Brian's first ever track day! At the start of the day the marshall's and organisers were especially watching all the novices. I think Brian was somewhat Surprised at the end of the day that out of 130 drivers the organisers declared that Brian was the Driver of the day and awarded him the "Driver of the Day trophy".

Well done Brian!

Darren took a load of Pictures for the Car Club so when he posts them I will edit and put in the link.

I was only there spectating and as a Passenger, but everyone had a great day as far as I could see. Oh and for once I won something in the raffle. LOL

Well done that man... :ymapplause:

:ymblushing: Thanks guys, I was really surprised to receive the "Driver of the Day" award, This was just the icing on the cake on what was a superb day, I must admit that I did feel a little disappointed not to win a prise in the raffle but winning the award soon made up for it :D. Good to meet you Duncan and put a face to a name.

The weather was perfect although we started with a damp track, I felt a little lost in my Z at the start with so much exotic/expensive machinery kicking about but soon got on with the day and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I reckon I got about approx 50ish laps of the track which was not too bad.

The Z never missed a beat and the work carried out on my brakes recently paid off (caliper refurbish and red stuff pads and new brake fluid), no brake fade whatever. The track is fast and hard to learn but I had a lesson from one of the ARDS instructors first thing in the morning which set me up for the day, Thanks Helen ;)

Now off to unpack everything and get the car off the trailer. I cannot wait to see some pics.

A Little Momento of the day :)

Short answer........... Yes, It took quite a lot to get the car ready and get organised for the day but with the first one out of the way it should be easier the next time.
