Whilst wandering around the show I said to my mate I've never seen any of my old cars here, 10 mins later I said that's my old MG. I went with my Dad and bought this MG when I was 17 for £335 and restored it (it was Matt black and a mess) I later part exchanged it for a stag. It bought back some lovely memories as my Dad passed away 3 months ago and I would love to be able to tell him about it. I have not seen this car for 37 years.

Glad you had a good day :p
What a lovely story about you MG ;)
Lovely photos ;)

That's a great story about the B GT mate. My eldest brother had one when he first got wed, he even kept it after their first child but it soon became a hopeless case. BUT, at the time I had a Chrysler Alpine with the 1442 cc motor which would out accelerate it, out corner it, did way more MPG and did not leak oil. Yeah, OK it was a Simca but what the hell.=))=))=))

Some great cars there thanks for the pictures mate.

Tony.

It would be great to stumble over one of my old cars so I can imagine the smiles seeing your old MG

Unfortunately I suspect all my old cars are dead and buried! Still good to see examples of those I've had at shows.

I did hang around and go back a couple of times to try and see the owner but I didn't see them. It would have been nice to buy it back.
