This is the second track outing in my coupe, but not my first rodeo driving spirited... :D. Just to summarise the coupe did very well, in fact surprised me and my mate. We had a visit from a crew driving a V8 M3 who couldn't catch us along with others just being nosy. I was struggling with the brakes though, I have some EBC discs along with yellow stuff pads. The pads could only handle around 5 laps before needing to cool down so it's time to find some carbon pads. Car setup is not far from stock, the shocks being standard but only a few years old, on Eibach springs and uprated brakes. I've also power flexed a few bits here n there. I'm running federal RS-R track tyres which appear to be amazing so far. This was also the first time @Shortie_gal had ever done a track day and she loved it.

I've only uploaded one video for now but ill add some more later. This is a short clip of me and my mate in his MX5

One of the many times giving the old girl a chance to cool down.

Chasing an old school ford, I could stay with it but couldn't get past.

Looks a good crack. Jue did a VXR day at Silverstone a few years back and proper enjoyed it. If i had a newer car id' fancy a go but i think the zed is a bit long in the tooth for that sort of abuse now.

I think @spurs fan in a coupe might not agree :D

Why @Lee? o_O. Is it because he trackdays a zed or did he total a VXR Lol!!

That MX5 does well! Has he had the BBR treatment?

Not sure what you mean, It's had a few engine tweaks, sat on coilovers and track tyres. He also fitted a new adjustable roll bar front and back. Goes well just lacks the torque.

Sorry, Brodie Britain Racing (BBR) do a turbo conversion starting at circa 200 BHP.

Great videos @Lee :p

Septembers out for me. Doing a week road trip round Scotland, birthdays and holiday. I'm planning to do one more this year. Early October is what I'm looking at.

Off topic I know, sorry but If your up in the Killin, Crianlarich, Loch Lomond area let me know, be nice to meet for a coffee and a natter finally.

You were only saying at Gaydon on how well them brakes have performed so far, I think you must have cursed them!

Yeah agree! must be fast road use is perfect but track is to much! I might give the blue stuffs a go.

I love brands Indy circuit I used to track my mx5 there , it was just right for the 5 as it more more bends than straights. I wish I had known you were going there as I only live about 20mins away. Great vids the z sounds awesome.
