Where were you?

This must have been father and son I imagine (both 2.8s

Great day. After forecast rain, it was beautiful and a few of us must be imola red.

Some nice cars, some sheds too but nice to see old faces again! And good to see some more new blood to the family

Here is my picture
I was with my brother and 2 kids. My brother was on crutches as he managed to sprain his ankle badly this week. So we took a slow walk round, stopped at the drifting and sat in the grandstand there for a while and then took a slow walk back and stopped off at the main grandstand for an hour or so before we left. Only saw the zroadster area as we left and we had to hurry off by then.

This is the gang (watching the drag strip) if anyone sees us looking lost in future and wants to say hello!

I have some videos of the 2.2 engine swap to put up on youtube so will get father and son up then too. Have only ever met @Lee and @Nodzed face to face so a bit vague on faces behind the forum names still.

Had a great day but my hands full with both my boys with today. Didn't manage to see anyone at the stand but saw a few of you up and down the strip.
Was nice to see the silver Z3 twins (which were the only Z3's in the strip we saw).

As for the father/son contest I'll let my pics do the talking @gookah @g8jka

The difference in pace was so massive that I actually told my mate that one must be a 2.0l....:)

Lovely sight those fantastic Z's up the strip. Seeing all the new machinery makes one realise what a nice looking BMW these have become.

Managed to see the jet car and the top fuel V8's dragsters much to the delight of the boys.

Did some mandatory rounds don dodgems and spent too long getting covered in rubber at the drift arena but they loved it.

The only problem with this show is I get serious wheel envy, some of the wheels these BMW are wearing, so many dishes, spokes and split rims everywhere!

They are insane aren't they?

We did a whole day session watching competitive drag racing there a few years back. The need for air defenders is much more obvious then. For those that haven't been the noise is at almost ear splitting levels!

Great fun though. Even the surface conditioning tractor seemed to be suped up!

Good to me you all and to see all the different Zeds on show (and lots of other clubs too).

Claire and I had a great time, narrowly avoided sunstroke and will most definitely come along to some future events too.

Here a couple of photos that we took,,,,,,,,,

You got a cracking start there.

Thanks all for an awesome day, didn't take many pictures as I was going down the strip. Some lovely zeds there as always, hopefully get a few more next year. Managed 6 runs in total and I was really happy with how it went despite one run against my dad where I forgot to turn off the traction control. Well done @Twin Turbo for taking the trophy but that was a dead cert really ;)

Gutted I couldn't beat my brother but I was only 0.3 behind his best, which I didn't think I'd get anywhere near as his car is one of the fastest 2.8's I've seen.

As for the big one against @gookah, well what can I say? Better luck next year?

I'll reconnect his MAF sensor next time I see him

Some great pics here peeps, maybe get to the pod one year:whistle:

Many thanks, but its not a dead cert - there were not many Z's visited this year - if another Z4m, 35i or 35is it could have been a very different storey.
