Write Up BMW Show Santa Pod 25th Sept 2015

I was thinking going down next on the 10th - to try an different technique - but there is no shame loosing out to an M or an Alpina - as I only have 4 pot lol
Try playing around with tire pressures! Increase your fronts to lower the friction from rolling resistance and lower the rears as low as you can safely to aid in launch control of wheel spin. Might just get you where you want to go and as there's no restrictions on fuel I'd try adding some octane boost to get a slower more complete burn, pull your air filter to get as much air into the engine as possible. You can also try running different heat range plugs, up a step or two from stock to insure a complete burn which translates into power at those pressure lowered rear tires. Then practice, practice, practice your launch technique. The first 60' are where most races are won or lost. HTH. JIM

Thanks for that - also wife not with me so I can tinker more.

I could give you a lot more tips if you want to build strictly a drag car but for fun events that's pretty much it I think! If anything stumbles out of the archives in my head I'll pass them along! lol JIM

Finally got the chance to get the photos off the camera

Thanks for the piccy of the rear wing on the drift Zed Martin. That would explain the loud bang, and the end of my turn. Hope you don't mind me nicking the picture :)

I noticed that it didn't removed that wicked smile from the driver tho.=))

I don't know whether to like or dislike the above post

I was sat at the start as the jet funny car was about to go down the strip whilst they were starting it up and it was deafening, unfortunately it didn't go down but the next one came past which was pretty loud and I got a great view.

The tractor was pretty quick too, surprised they let cars go whilst it was preparing the other lane.
