Hi guys, sadly the New Year 2020 brings me bad news: the local council of my city, Bucharest, decided that motorized vehicles non Euro, Euro1, Euro 2 will be able to drive in the city with a tax (around 300 euro/year) within this year and starting with next year (2021) will be completely banned from the city! Total interdiction of use...A real nightmare and a huge abuse!
Taking into consideration that my Zed will be valid for a historical vehicle in 2026, I have a problem! A huge one!

So together with a small group we started a protest and very soon a complaint in the Court of law. Now the fight is opened...

I never used the Zed in the city, since its purchase, as I find the city very crowded and dangerous for a low car, but cutting the possibility to get in and out ... it's too much!
They hide behind the pollution measures, in a discriminatory way with huge abuse on property. Very weak legal support for their theory, but it will take many months of fights in Justice. About half of the vehicles registered in the city (700k) are involved...

Good luck Dan with your fight. We have had to fight our local government over a different reason over the last few weeks which would have changed our lives dramatically but thankfully we have just won.
Dig deep and come up with sound logical reasons to why what your government is doing isn't a good idea.

This is happening here slowly, London has an ultra low emission zone and even my neighbouring council Luton has declared a "climate emergency" opening the way for charging cars to enter the town.

Charging cars to enter the town, all the cars, it's a desperate measure, but forbidding some cars (with valid MOT) overnight... it's a bit strange!

This year they will stil be able after paying a fee but starting next year they will not be able to enter. Biggest problem is with the owners, how will I be able to get my car from the garage outside the city and how will I be able to bring it back home?

Strange how paying a fee cancels out any pollution caused by a car. Or is that just me being cynical? Again.

Sorry to here that Dan, makes my blood boiler when they bring these restrictions and taxes in. Fight it all the way, what if you can't afford to buy a new car , protest block the roads in to town.

For this year any "visitor" will pay a tax of 4 EUR/day but ...from next year access will be denied at the border of the city!
And if he dares to cross it, the fine will be 500 EUR!...
Seems that we are living in a very precious city....
