In reality it’s a non issue. Same limits in lots of towns all over the UK. Non of the good driving roads are 20mph limit. I’ve still never seen a 20mph limit being enforced.

Wasnt a road trip but I had to make a flying visit to some ships in Hull today.

The Lincolnshire Wolds are a great drive on the back roads. 4am start so had the top up. Coming home was on the chilly side but the sun was out so top down for the entire trip from the Norfolk coast and back.

How about as a suggestion, A515 in the peaks? Lots of nice roads/ scenery in that area, The Barrel inn on the tops. We could recommend and the Lamb near Hayfield. A57 and make your own way home? Stoney Middleton pub with rooms, the moon, not a bad shout, parking at a premium but great atmosphere. Good job we were staying. !!!
