I recently picked my car up after having a cat back stainless system fitted and noticed a miniscule amount of oil on the front pipes where they join the cat. Decided to change the valve cover gasket as a matter of caution, just wondering if anyone had same problem. I have been told the m 52. Engine valve cover gasket is a common issue. Just wondering if there's any other area near this gasket that could be a problem.
The leak was. From the top offside rear corner which prompted me to change the valve cover gasket?

Sounds about right its usually the cam cover gasket either the long edge or the rear that starts leaking due to age and repeated heat cycles making the gasket go hard and brittle and loosing the ability to seal correctly. Tell tale sign is oil staining and smoke from it burning off where it drips onto the exhaust and of course oil fumes. Its a big issue with Z4's as well, have changed around five on z4's for people. Can't help with the roof issue in your first picture you posted but it certainly needs some attention by the look of it.

Yep it's a shed that's waiting to be demolished, a project for spring I think. Some how it got sent by mistake.
Hopefully the new gasket should do the job.
