Rebody Lights (for LHD) with E Marking

Hello everyone,

I was looking a closer look at the headlights and saw that P700 replicas were used and I did not see E markings on that. I have the feeling that they can fail the MOT (it strict) because you need E markings.

The same topic might be for all lenses valid all around ...

I guess I have to at least still order the LHD version due to the cutoff. Or can I change the existing ones to change the beam form pattern for LHD ?
Is it easy to change these lights or are they glued in ? It is a Nubodi build.

I'd say that the tribute Kalifornia lights are basically the same as mine. Just a standard 7 inch Lucas style light used in things like MGB and many others. Give me a couple minutes and I'll go see what I have in my ReBody. Back in a mo.

Mine are RHD with E11 mark

I've looked in my email and I can't find the order or remember where I got them from but they wouldn't pass a test in Holland and they can't be adjusted - there is a kind of 'sticker' you can get to place on the lens but unlikely that an MOT test would accept that. Those stickers are just for when you go abroad on holiday.

But, as I said, it is just a basic 7 inch light for MG, spitfire and many other cars so you should be able to get a LHD version of that at a reasonable price.

Just noticed in the top picture - right hand side - the name "WIPAC" that's the brand. I'd have got that from Moss I reckon. See this link. They do LHD lamps too

So far I can't see a P700 in LDH with E mark. Maybe there's something about that design that the EU doesn't like. Solution might be just to have a cheap set of E WIPAC lights for your MOT then swap in the P700 afterwards.

thank you very much for taking your time and writing so detailed!

(I have changed the title of the topic to discuss all lights now.)

Current state:

Col B was so nice to send me the pictures of all lights around so that I know which one do not have the E Marking.

The front blinkers have it. The yellow side blinker on the fender have an e marking.

The rest apparently not and I think I will have to replace all others.

The current headlights have a P700 in the middle. In the invoice for the build they contain also the word "triangle". In the detailed picture, I see at the bottom I can see "P700" and then bellow in bigger font "HEADLAMP".
In the invoice it says "P700 7"TRIPOD LENS HALOGEN (PAIR) REP 22. "

The two fog lights on the grill say "MAXTEL" and "JF". Might be these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/315963123126

The rear blinker and break light do not have the e marking. In the invoice it says only "Ferrari lights indicators".

About these I am unsure:
The red reflectors at the back I was told have no e marking but I think its just very hard to read. If you squint your eyes, they say something like "SAE A69" at the top of it. At the bottom is a small "e8" in squares and then 3115 after it. According to AI (which was often wrong) it means that it was checked in the EU in CZ.

The rear fog light and reversing light are similar. The reversing light I can hardly see "HALOGEN" on both sides, same for the fog light. They are from the same vendor I think. According to Rob's invoice, they were bought from s-v-c.co.uk . Read fog is "1259 REAR FOG.". Reverse is "1259 REVERSE".

If they are super picky, they might check for the marking also on the number plate light. On the invoice for it it says '550 Type No. PLATE LAMP "FROGEYE.'

So that is the current status of how it is. I have some time to prepare and order everything I need.

So things I need to handle are (light wise):

- Head lights
- Front fog lights
- Reversing light
- Rear fog light
- Rear break light and blinker


Headlights

In the invoice of the build I see '7" Headlight NEST (PAIR)'.
