Hi all, thanks for letting me join. I’m a former BMW tech that used to work on these when they first came out. Never would imagine that 30 years later I would buy one. It’s got 1997 1.9 M44 engine. Only done 70k but it’s in need of sills, front and rear wings. Why are narrow body rear wings so hard to find!

You could become very useful on here, how far did you delve into these back in the 90's ?

Pretty much full strip down and rebuild. I started in ‘95 and left in 2000. Working on my Zed is a real nostalgic thing

rust free for 30 year old is never going to happen.
It does. Depends on how the car they came from has been used (or not). Mine were down to some very kind mice who inadvertently made 'moisture absorbing' nests everywhere (and luckily didn't like the taste of wiring insulation).

Every panel I took off my Z3 was completely rust free; the members on here who bought them will testify.
