Fats Domino, one of the most influential rock and roll performers of the 1950s and 60s, has died aged 89.
The American rock and roll artist was best known for his songs Ain't That A Shame and Blueberry Hill.
The New Orleans singer sold more than 65 million records, outselling every 1950s rock and roll act except Elvis Presley.
His million-selling debut single, The Fat Man, is credited by some as the first ever rock and roll record.

Yes, at least Elvis proclaimed Fats the real king of rock and roll. McCartney's Lady Madonna was a nod to fats too apparently... Very influential...Chuck more so, my mum saw Chuck Berry at Butlins in the 80s...I wish I had.

Sorry just cant agree with that comment . Elvis had the biggest fan base (and still does) of any singer past or present and has sold more albums than any other artist (except the Beatles but God knows why) Broadcasted to the largest worldwide audience ever. Yes I am a fan (Note Other Rock and Roll artists are available)

I must admit, as a kid listening to Radio Luxembourg, as you did back in the day, I was quite shocked when they announced his death.
