Electronic Damping Control Malfunction - Assistance

I have a 2016 Z4 sDrive 35i the EDC error just popped up a few days ago.
My challenge is I can't find it, I've looked in the trunk on the right side behind the molding and there is nothing there.
I then looked under the hood by the firewall and the black box only has the ECU, no EDC module behind it.

So I'm trying to determine my next steps, not many diagrams online. I going to remove each wheel and see it there is a wire loose or broken on the shocks.
When I scan the car the EDC does not come up in the scan, so that's been interesting.

I'm open to any suggestions.

So the edc computer sits in the sealed black box in the engine bay..

Do you have adaptive dampers?

What does your vin decoder say?

I have checked the seal black box in the engine bay close to the fire wall. After removing the 11 torx screws, the only thing in the box is the ECU, its my understanding that the EDC is a small box that sits in the next bay. Mine is empty.

My VIN decoder does not show EDC , it shows I have Electronic Stability Control (ESC) & Traction control.
