MOT…… Failed on non standard “Tank Straps"…………. Not really !!!! =)) =)) =))

The EML light is due to one of the pre cat O2 sensors, so I asked them to replace both as these were the only two sensors I didn't replace. I didn‘t fancy grubbing around underneath it again :whistle:

Tracking‘s been done, Full brake bleed done, and Headlights aligned , plus a full scan of the car.

Picking it up tomorrow after the sensors been done, so will get another Hour Long Insurance when they call me Just to get it home. (the long way round:whistle:).

I feel another Speed Awareness Course is just round the corner:arghh::arghh:🤬

I will put a couple of pictures but not till next week as the garage were sent the wrong O2 sensors today and wont get the correct ones till monday.
I could have picked the car up but as still SORN and only being insured an hour at a time I left it with them until its done….. plus if the sensors are seized in the manifold, then rather give them the problem =))

Great news @Mazza , I’m glad to hear that you’ve got it back on the road. You just need to get back in to some half reasonable weather to get out and put some miles on it. It’s great that it’s come this far since we saw it looking sad in the garage. Well done Mate.

Didn’t quite go to plan…..

They had to drill out the old sensors, and retap the threads to put the new sensors in…. So glad I let them do it=))

BUT…..after picking it up today, I got within 100 yds of home and the EM light came back on 🤬🤬, so turned it round and took it back.
Left it with them to scan it and see whats going on…. And walked home in the rain…. :arghh:

PIcked it up this afternoon, and EM light sorted….. one of the new sensors was duff !!!!!

Obviously well checked as there was 14 additional miles on the clock

Only insured it for an hour again as still SORN, but came the long way home…..

Feels totally different to the 1.9….

Well I guess your neighbours are breathing a sigh of relief after 5 years of hell 😄 I see they have drawn the curtains to block you out - haha. What are you going to torment them with next :poke: ? Great job with a valuable learning curve, just need a zorg sticker and you're good to go:thumbsup:

I've been watching your projects since we joined Z Roadster & have learned more about Z3s from them than anything else. Especially the 1.9 refresh as we had just got our 1.9 at the time. Thanks so much for for sharing them with us. :thankyou:
Only problem is what on earth am I going to do for entertainment now?

Cheers Mazza :drinks:

Ian

I said there was one item left to complete and finish the project…

but I found a dash cam so will be putting that in and sorting out the power source etc. but not worth documenting as did it on the 1.9 and lots of other people have done it and put threads on how it’s done……

The last finishing touch and which completes the build however is this …..

With thanks to Gary and Shirl, I got the last of the Facelift decals.
