Has anyone ordered from AutoDoc?
If so, what sort of wait time is it from payment being made and delivery?

3 days to 6 months...assuming they send you the brand you ordered and not some 'equivalent' Chinesium own-brand replacement.
What?!? 6 months?!? And substituted brands?!? 😮

I’ve used them several times in the past year, delivery has usually been about a week, but prices are very competitive with a good choice of brands. My last purchase was a full set of ate discs pads and shoes

I attempted to use them last year when my Z3 M Coupe water pump packed up 6 days before travelling to Silverstone Classic. The local BMW dealer said no longer available, checked local Indy's, nobody could help. Looked at AutoDoc, they had them in stock, however delivery didn't come up until order placed, between 10 to 14 days. Definitely no good so cancelled, got refund a week later.
Back on eBay, ended up getting a water pump from Ken's Auto Spares in Nottingham, travelled to pick it up myself next day and managed to get it fitted day before I travelled to Silverstone.
AutoDoc based in Europe I understand so that's why delivery could take a while.

Great range, great prices….delivery times are variable for reasons I can’t explain…typically 5-9 days in my experience…if you need parts in a hurry then it’s eBay / Amazon pukka bmw dealers..

Cause they cover such a wide range and it’s pan European you have to be careful that the parts are exactly the right ones..I’ve got caught out on both Mini and Volvo brake parts cause I thought I was buying the entry level for Uk parts…but I bought entry level parts for some European versions which were smaller than the Uk versions..

You really need to use realoem and the Autodoc web site together..

Best to have the optional parts return box ticked to avoid boo boos..

Also the app is always cheaper than the web site..

I use the web site cause it’s much more detailed then order on the app..

Finally there discount levels move nearly daily..

If you can be a predator you can wait say for a 46% discount day rather than a 24% discount detail..

All the above leads you to the conclusion best to plan ahead..not the best if you need a knee jerk response..

All IMHO

Looking at my history I’ve placed over 45 orders with them..

Only ever order from Autodoc, or carpartsonline which are the same company but bizarrely can be different prices for the same stuff.

Their delivery is not the quickest but everything comes from Germany. Their prices are generally the best you will get; their range is unbeatable and they have got a lot better at turnaround times in the past few years.

I received a parcel from them last week. It was 5 days from order which is the best yet for me.

I have never had an issue with them apart from once when I ordered some brake parts but their website played up just as I was paying. Long story short, I received two lots of brake discs and pads, so had to send one lot back. Their returns were excellent IME, despite this being their achilles heels for many.

To clarify some of my claims...the 6 months was the time it took to get the correct (i.e. correct brand, and correct fitment) part I'd ordered after receiving 3 either wrong brand, or wrong fitment items (and the time it took to get them to arrange a pre-paid return).

I've ordered respected branded items (Bosch, ATE, Zimmerman, Textar, Beru, et al) and received the Chinesium Ridex/Stark part in its place. When I've queried it, the argument always seems to be that they're "equivalent quality" or "more expensive, so I'm getting better for less". Sometimes I'll finally receive the genuine parts, but the contents look 'used' or 'test fitted'.

If you want to ensure they don't send you a 'substitute' to speed up the process, then you have to create an account and then call them to add this flag to your account. AFAIK there is still NO WAY for a customer to place this flag themselves.

I just can't be bothered with them anymore and rather pay the premium for UK-sourced parts (BMW or factors), or will fit tested/warranted used parts.

Time to delivery is about a week, selection is vast even for simple things like air filters etc.
Their endless stream of emails and promotions rapidly becomes irritating...

Very odd..I’ve never ever had Autodoc substitute a part or offer a substitute part

On the web site it tells you if it’s in stock…or not..

I've had it on approx 50% of my orders over about 5 years (Alfa 147, BMW E46 330D, BMW F31 320D orders)...probably no more than £300 spend in each case, and their explanation on multiple occasions has been that either the stock level was incorrect, or they'd gone out of stock the moment I ordered it and so to speed up the order they sent a substitute.

They never send an equivalent quality one (so no ATE for Zimmerman, or Beru for Bosch), only Stark or Ridex, so it reads like a scam they like to run.

I have a flag on my account to disable substitutions, and to inform me if something has gone out of stock...but it's of little use as I'll likely never use them again.

They're almost as bad as Temu/AliExpress on some items, where they'll offer you 30-50% off if you keep the part you don't want...so they don't have to pay for return postage.

Ah well ..each experience is different…

For my Z4/Mini/XC70 they are my go to..if I have time and they stock it..many OE parts of course you need a bespoke BMW like Schiedman, LLL Parts, Hauber etc even BMW UK at times..

B21 perfectly summed up my experience with them. My very large order was delivered in 6 days and nicely tracked, and only £8 postage which is fantastic to be fair.

Autodoc DEFINITELY works best with a part number from RealOEM, unbeatable combo

I think it is brilliant to be able to compare all the prices across all the brand you might want to buy from.

All my stuff turned up exactly as ordered

Highly reccomend
